Laurent Paquin

Laurent Paquin launched his first one-man show, Première Impression, in 2001 and charmed Quebec audiences. After Tout est relatif, L’Ereure est humaine and Déplaire, Crocodile distrait will be released in 2023. He lent his talents as a writer, scriptwriter-editor and director to Billy Tellier, Rachid Badouri and Tommy Néron and to the television series Bébéatrice, on Radio-Canada. He is recognized as the record holder of Gala JPR and ComédiHa! with 22 consecutive years behind the tie. In 2021, he launched a podcast called Setup, prémisse, punch in which he explores the realities of the comedian’s profession as well as a series of web capsules Les caprices de Laurent where he has fun in the role of a grumpy chef.

Apart from the many projects that occupy his career as a comedian, Laurent also has various acting experiences in theatre, television and film. In the theatre, he played in the musical Chicago in 2004 and in the play L’emmerdeur in 2008. His role as La Duchesse de Langeais in the 2018 musical Demain matin, Montréal m’attend stole the show. In the summer of 2022, he was part of the cast of Dîner de Cons, alongside Normand d’Amour, René Simard and Bernard Fortin.

On television, he played in Histoires de filles, Caméra Café and Le bonheur in addition to participating in three Bye Bye. In film, he lent his voice in the Quebec version of The Jungle Book in 2016, and to the Yeti in Le Chaînon manquant, in 2019.

In 2017, he wrote Le petit Laurent illustré, a collection of humorous thoughts for adults, and in 2023 his children’s book Le Crocodile distrait, as well as its sequel Jour de fête! published in 2025. All three are illustrated by Éric Godin. In addition to all these talents, Laurent is also fulfilling himself in the world of music. In 2021, he released his first album of “serious” songs Et faire comme si, in addition to directing Damien Robitaille’s show Bientôt ce sera Noël.
